What I love most in my spare time is reading historical stories. Through books, documentaries, and lessons at school, I have traveled back in time to witness both the brilliance and the darkness of human civilization. History, in its honesty, has taught me that discrimination—whether against women, people of color, or other groups—has been a persistent cause of suffering and conflict across societies and eras.
From ancient civilizations to the modern world, we see recurring examples of injustice. People have been mistreated, excluded, and even violently oppressed just because of their gender, race, religion, or social status. These actions were often justified under flawed beliefs or systems of power. Yet time and again, such discrimination has led to unrest, inequality, and the delay of social progress.
These lessons from history shape my vision for our global civilization: a world built on equality and peace. I imagine a future where every person is valued and treated with dignity, where prejudice has no place, and differences are not just accepted but embraced. Diversity should be seen as a strength, not a threat. It encourages creativity, empathy, and collective growth.
How can we create such a world? I believe it begins with learning honestly from the past. Understanding where discrimination comes from and how it harms societies is the first step toward change. Education should play a central role in raising awareness and nurturing empathy from a young age. Moreover, communication and dialogue must replace violence and confrontation. Only through respectful conversation can we resolve conflicts and build mutual understanding.
As a young person, I feel responsible to contribute to this future. By choosing kindness over judgment, courage over silence, and compassion over indifference, each of us can help create a more inclusive world.
I am hopeful that we can move forward together by building a global community defined not by division, but by peace, fairness, and shared humanity.(朱喆岩)
